About Liz Webb

Song Writer

Inspired by many of the great songwriters known for producing timeless music such as Michael Franks, Van Morrison and others, Liz Webb has a prodigious body of work to her credit.
Having produced music for film, television and radio, Liz then turned her attention to her own albums. Somewhat discouraged by the music of ‘today’ Liz wanted to put the rhythm and melody back into music and – she did!
For Liz however, the words are just as important as the music and having a definite psychic / spiritual leaning, her lyrics often carry a deeper, more philosophical meaning than might first be apparent. But that doesn’t detract from the quality of the music.

Live Performance

From the up-market ambience of Sydney’s Marriott, Intercontinintal, Renaissance and Regent hotels to the elegance of the snow covered Perisher Valley Hotel resort in the ski fields, Liz Webb has charmed audiences of all nations with her warm, velvet voice, smooth piano playing and the cool vibe of her jazz flute.
A relaxed, sophisticated, easy-to-listen-to singer and musician, Liz Webb has a magic musical ‘feel’. Her sound is simultaneously both undemanding yet absorbing. Guests can carry on a conversation without competing with the music. Or they can just settle back and immerse themselves in her sound as they relax to a vocal style that somehow lets you ‘in’ with its intimate and smoky feel that really has to be heard ‘live’ to be fully appreciated.
Liz Webb is a genuine asset to any “A” list venue. The 1,200 high quality musical backings in her repertoire appeal to a wide and varied audience but especially to those who appreciate good music as it used to be heard – cool jazz with great lyrics and timeless melodies presented in a style that makes you want to hear more.
Liz Webb’s natural music abilities are supplemented with a strong academic background earned via a degree in Jazz and Voice from the prestigious Australian National University.
With performances in Simon Gallaher’s productions of the Mikado, Pirates of Penzance and H.M.S. Pinafore, Liz shows she has ‘the chops’ to make it in any musical genre. A successful on-stage season of Jon English’s ‘Buskers and Angels’ followed in which Liz sang, played keyboards, bass guitar, and flute.
Liz is a truly amazing performer with the looks, the voice and the playing skills to cut it with the best of them – anywhere in the world.

Photographer

Not content to exist within the world of music, Liz also enjoys an unmistakable affinity for photography.
Her nature and landscape photographs are quite stunning, and Liz has compiled a DVD of some her best photographs into a visually and musically relaxing journey through some of the most  spectacular and evocative landscape in Australia.
She has called this DVD ‘a Gentle Journey’ and indeed it is, as the scenes drift by, enhanced by soft  musical arrangements specifically written by Liz to fit the mood.
a Gentle Journey is quite unique in that it’s been designed to be actively played, watched and listened to, or else just left to play with the music filtering through in the background.
A number of customers have remarked on how healing and relaxing the whole DVD was.
At almost 1 hour in length, a Gentle Journey is too big to download so it’s only available on DVD format from this website.
